Many volunteers are needed to organize and manage a Rally Cap team. Parents interested in coaching should reference the RRVB Coaches Den webpage for details on clinics and requirements you will need for 2018 season.

Rally Cap is an initiative by Baseball Canada and is sponsored by Dairy Queen. It is a fun and developmental program for boys and girls age 4-7. Teams are comprised of 6 players and 2 coachers to encourage the players to touch the ball as much as possible. Three teams gather at a diamond with two teams playing a game and the 3rd team running age appropriate drills. Click here for full information on the program from Baseball Canada.

Springfield runs our own in-house Rally Cap program playing on local Springfield diamonds to minimize travel. In addition to the regular season games, the  league (RRVB) organizes a fun event called the Rally Cap Jamboree which is mandatory participation. This is typically played on a weekendi n May at the Gateway Rec Centre diamonds. Details to be confirmed.

Parent participation and volunteering are crucial for this level to be successful. Parents, please be sure to communicate requests for car pooling, coaches, players, siblings to be on the same team when registering. We will try to accommodate requests as best as possible. For players that are 7 yrs old and demonstrate some skill, age advancing to Grand Slam may be a consideration. Parents, please complete the separate online form at the same time as registration for this assessment to be done. Requests AFTER registration will not be accommodated.

Playing season is the same as the other levels, starts beginning of May (weather permitting) and plays through to end of June. Last game is set aside for all Rally Cap teams to attend a wind-up.
